Jay-Z will play two free concerts this weekend in support of voter registration and the campaign of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama for the upcoming U.S. presidential election. Jay-Z is the latest high-profile artist to sign on for Obama benefits.

Nine Inch Nails are to become the musical stars of a new iPhone game. The industrial rockers, led by Trent Reznor, have landed their own branded version of the game Tap Tap Revenge. The game will feature 16 songs by Reznor, including some remixes made especially for the game.

Oasis star Noel Gallagher is battling sleepwalking. The rocker admits he occasionally wakes up in a different room to where he falls asleep. And sometimes he wakes up in a totally different part of his home.
Dirty Pretty
Dirty Pretty Things have split up. Carl Barat, Didz Hammond, Gary Powell and Anthony Rossomando – announced the break-up of the band that formed in 2005 following the split of The Libertines. Frontman Carl Barat explained that the members of the band would be pursuing new musical projects.
Katy Perry
Welsh soul star Duffy is leading the nominations for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards - she's up for three prizes including Album of the Year for Rockferry. The singer will also compete for the New Act accolade and Most Addictive Track for her hit single Mercy. She will compete against Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, Coldplay and Alicia Keys for the best album award, and go head-to-head with pop newcomer Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus in the New Act category. Spears has landed a second nod for Act of 2008, for which she is nominated alongside Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay and Lewis. Other nominees include Kanye West and Beyonce Knowles for Best Urban, and Metallica and Linkin' Park for the Rock Out award. The winners will be unveiled on 6 November.
Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue has found herself at the centre of a terrorism scare after British spies reportedly uncovered plans to target her forthcoming gig in the United Arab Emirates. The Spinning Around hitmaker is due to entertain a party of 2,000 high-profile guests at the opening of Dubai's $25,900. She is expected to scoop a $3.7 million pay cheque for the performance, but her appearance has been thrown into doubt after it was revealed that British intelligence is investigating claims of a possible al-Qaida attack at the venue. A source tells, there has been talk of attacks in internet chatrooms.
Ronnie Wood
Rolling Stone rocker Ronnie Wood is facing a massive $92.5 million payout to his estranged wife Jo after she began to seek advice from lawyers about a possible divorce. Wood was exposed as a love cheat after his affair with Russian Ekaterina Ivanova, 20, was exposed in June. The star, who returned to rehab earlier this summer to curb his alcohol addiction, has been living with his young lover in recent weeks. But the pictures have infuriated Jo, prompting her to consult her attorneys with a view to officially ending her 23-year marriage. Jo would be entitled to half of Wood's estimated $129.5 million fortune - but she could also scoop another 20 per cent of his earnings for her time as his employee.
Britney Spears
"Womanizer," the first single from Britney Spears' upcoming album "Circus," has hit U.S. radio outlets. The track, produced by up-and-coming Atlanta team the Outsyders, has a thick, synthy sound that should lend itself to remixes and club play. Lyrically, "Womanizer" finds Spears rebuffing the advances of man with the "swagger of champions."The album's release on Dec. 2 coincides with Spears' 27th birthday.
Kanye West
Kanye West will not face felony charges stemming from an incident at the Los Angeles International Airport earlier this month. The rap star and his road manager were arrested there on September 11 after West got into a scuffle with a commercial photographer and allegedly damaged a camera worth more than $10,000. Los Angeles County prosecutors said they have declined to file felony charges against West.
Paul McCartney
More than 40,000 music fans turned Sir Paul McCartney's first show in Israel into a huge celebration. The former Beatle greeted the audience in Hebrew before performing at a peace concert in Tel Aviv - four decades after the Fab Four were banned from the country. The Friendship First concert featured 31 hits from MCCartney's music career, including Beatles songs, Wings hits and solo tunes.
