From “Awaz Deu” she shivered the music industry and proved herself as a better singer to the audiences and people who had underestimated her voice and talent in her debut song “Hi hi hello hello.” She reached her height of fame through “Aawaz Deu” and now she has started featuring for different songs. Even this trend favored her to make her stand aloof from other competitors. She is young, talented and hardworking; she is none other than Prashna Shakya.

She spends her leisure time watching TV, especially comedian programs, comedy films and playing with her little doggie "Danzel" and she loves to him call Puntu, shares Prashna talking to Cybersansar. In an exclusive Candid talk with Cybersansar, Prashna gossips about her personal life, music career, her upcoming album and much more…

Here are some excerpts of the interview.

1.What do you say about your first album" Hi-Hello"?

"Hi- Hello" is my first album, which was released basically on my Dad's interest. It was also brought out to check my voice on air. I was only 15 then. It didn't make any market.

2. Then your second album "Aawaz" came on 2060 BS. What do you say about it?

It was an album which made me recognized me as a singer. The song "Aawaz Deu" was a great hit from this album. I was very very happy. It gave me name, fame, responsibility as well as lust to stick to musical world. Truly speaking I did nothing in this album, I just sang a song. This album was produced, music by Maharaj Thapa.

3. After the popularity from "Aawaz Deu", you started featuring with various artists, what made you shift from solo to feature artist?

There's no reason. Since I'm a singer I love singing whether it is solo or feature song. It's not necessary to release album frequently to be singer but have to give good music at any form, I believe.

4. How many songs did u feature till now?

I have featured for many artists, I don't remember all. Some are – 'Gaule Jivan' of Nirnaya, 'Lhasa Ko Chiso' of Avinash Ghising., many more.

5.What difference did you find while performing solo and feature songs?

I didn't find any difference between the two. In solo singing, one has to sing according to musician while in featuring, one have to sing according to demand of the song and style, else can enjoy the freedom in singing.

6. Is there any song that is coming in the market in which you have featured?

I'm featuring with Sabu Thapa in remix song "Bankali Mai", originally sung by Ram Thapa, with Aasha in remix song "Eh Didi Poi Paryo Kale", and duet song with Khemraj Dai in Album "Speed".

7. You have been featuring so many artists, will you continue this?

Of course I will. I'm a singer and my foremost duty is to give good song to audience in any style.


8. You are now bringing out your third album, when are you releasing it?

Still I'm working in it; I have already chosen the songs and also have finished recording some songs in my upcoming album. I have targeted to release this album within 2064 BS but the date has not been scheduled yet.

9. On which studios your songs are being recorded?

Right now, I'm doing recording work in Music Pop, Dhwani, BMI and Acoustica.

10. What's the name of your upcoming album?

I haven't thought of it yet.

11.What kind of songs do you have in new album?

I have included all kind of songs that are in demand in market. My new album gives taste of fast numbers including hip-hop, fusion, sentimental, techno and even folk music to cover the need of diversified audience.

12. Which music company is going to market your new album?

It's also not decided.

13. After you have gained so much of fame, how do you judge your new album? Would you be able stand high in competitive music scenario?

I haven't finished recording the songs of my album, so I cannot say anything regarding its popularity. I have tried my best and am trying to give all kind of flavors and may be my hard works will count.

14. What x-factor did u have that makes your new album different and outstanding from other artist albums?

Yap, I do have. I'm not going to flash out and let it be surprise for audience. One has to be very versatile in today's music scenario to live up to the expectation of the audiences. I have given my best.

15. Is there other artists featuring in your new album?

Madzone has featured in my album in song "Lagchha Maya" and other feature artists I have to decide.

16. What are your other future plans other than releasing album?

I don't have planned any other dreams right now, coz I want to give all my time and devotion in my upcoming album. Even though, I have couple of events in my hand to celebrate New Year, on 24th December in Kathmandu, 31st December in Pokhara and on 7th January in Nainital.

17. At last what you want say to your fans?

Love Nepali music, listen to my songs. Give comments and suggestions. One thing I would like to say to my fans is that, I receive a lot of response, mails, but I only get response regarding beauty, appearances like... you are beautiful... your eyes are beautiful, this..that. What I want to tell them is that, I am a singer so please first of all comment on my vocal; my music and those things are secondary. I am not a model or actor so I need more suggestions that can improve my singing and performance. Please give less important to those things.
