After Canvass and Frenz, Sudip is all geared up for another album. Cybersansar caught up exclusive with Sudip Giri where he talks about his upcoming album, musical career and many more.

Here are some excerpts of the interview.

1. When was the first time you felt you could sing?

I exactly do not know that but there were times, I used to sing in the college canteen and I used to do that comfortably and according to my friends, I used to sing well, so that was how the enthusiasm grew.

2. Were you engaged in any musical activities before "Canvass"? When did you start singing?

Yes, I was a vocalist in a band "Octave- C", Chitwan in 2056. But I wasn't able to continue the band for a long time.

3. Can you tell us why?

Well, the band members were engaged in their own work and they could give less time to the band and music. I was determined to continue music as a career so this way, things didn't work out. Also, I had to shift Kathmandu. So, after 2060, I started preparing for my solo career.

4. Are you giving your full time to music now?

Yes, I am.

5. Like you've said, you wanted to continue in the music as a career, so here comes a question of sustainability. Do you think it is possible to sustain totally on music?

Yes, so far as I have experienced, people can sustain. But you should also give your dedication and move according to time and demand and make changes in your music as well. Also, international music and trend affects a lot in national musical scene so you also need to be updated about that.

6. So how are you coping up with time and demand? From "Canvass" to your upcoming album what changes have you made in your music so far?

Well, to cope up with demand, I have been trying my best to experiment and give new taste to my listeners. Melody wise, my first album and the songs were catchy type, later on I tried putting more effort to lyrics and now I have tried to change my singing pattern, style and tone as well.

7. What is your upcoming album all about? Have you given any title?

No title yet. I am working on the record. In this album I have some punk rocks and I have also tried a bit of rock and continued the melody as well. It is on the arrangement phase now. I have a reality song, which I have dedicated it to my father who is in UK right now; and there are some tragic numbers.

8. So, how is the preparation going on?

Very good! I have tried some live instruments and focused more on to music. Even in rock, I have put an effort to produce good music with less instruments and quality sound that can be played and performed on stage. I have my own lyrics, music and composition.

9. Don't you think commercially or quality wise, if you join some senior and skilled personalities in your music, that can prove more creative?

Yes, certainly but now I am trying to give the best of whatever I have. But the time will come I will do that as well.

10. Let's talk about your personal life…, I mean family members?

Me, my mom, dad and elder brother.

11. How is your life at a personal level?

Cool… normal life.

12. What are you busy with right now?

I am learning musical arrangements, and doing compositions…. Preparing for the album and I have newly sung for collection albums. I also have some programs and concerts lined up.

13. How was the first time in the studio on mic?

Nervous! But after I started singing, everything was fine.

14.We heard you're also a martial art player. Tell us about it.

Yes, I am a Te- Kuan do player and even now, I am involved in it. But I have not been able to give time because my leg is damaged and doctor has suggested me not to play.

15. At last you want to say anything to your fans?

Please listen to and support Nepali music. Support Nepali music artists and thank you.
